Yoga Bag (Fashion for Moms) (Fair Trade)

The Peace Exchange- Sustainable Fair Trade

I know it might sound silly to say, but my life got a little easier once I got a yoga bag.  Mine was always unraveling and I let it flop around needlessly.  I didn’t think a bag would make that much of a difference, but it really, really did.  I’ve used one ever since.  Well, now not only can you get a yoga bag that makes a difference in your practice in the art of yoga, it can also make a difference to at-risk women in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

When I first spoke to Katie Bond, the founder and Executive Director of The Peace Exchange, she was en route traveling from Congo.  When The Peace Exchange says they are hands-on; they ARE HANDS-ON.  Katie has partnered with the women of the Sewing Workshops by hiring them as employees and then in turn promotes and sells their handmade items.  They work directly with the sewing workshops with no middle man.  It’s refreshing.

What is Fair Trade?

Fair Trade works with underdeveloped regions to establish and create sustainable job opportunities in developing nations where the supplying demographic is supported by positive working conditions and fair wages.  You are supporting Fair Trade when you partner with The Peace Exchange.

OK, now the COOL Yoga Bags from The Peace Exchange

These colorful yoga bags are so beautiful and unique.  I always get compliments.  I love, love, LOVE that the bag has an outside zippered pocket to put in my cell and keys when I’m in the studio.  No more lugging in an extra bag.  The drawstring cord goes perfectly over my shoulder and it is quite comfortable.  In fact, this may be the most comfortable yoga bag I have ever used – and no extra Velcro to tie.  Yay!  The bag will fit all standard yoga mats and since I have 5 (okay, 6) in various sizes, I can say with confidence that you should have no issue with your mat in this bag.  Namaste!
