The Tiny Traveler: Egypt: A Book of Shapes (Board book)
If you’re going to learn about shapes, why not do it in the exciting land of Egypt?
I am REALLY digging the new Tiny Traveler board book series by Misti Kenison for its unique blend of toddler books, travel and other educational concepts such as shapes. Brie, who is now an official toddler, has been starting to learn her basic shapes in school and considering her birthday country for this year is Egypt, I felt like The Tiny Traveler: Egypt: A Book of Shapes was written just for our family. It is just too coincidental, don’t you think?

Ancient Egypt is the perfect place to visually discuss shapes. From pyramids to ancient artifacts, basic shapes such as triangles, hexagons, and bright, geometric spreads were all soaked into Egypt’s fascinating culture. Talking about shapes while hopefully throwing in enough descriptions to have Brie catch the travel bug early, The Tiny Traveler does a wonderful job at transporting readers to an exotic locale while teaching the concept of shapes. While I hope to eventually explore the world with my kids, we do have an excellent job exploring right from our living room with A Book of Shapes.
