I have two great book options for new dads this Father’s Day (June 21st)!  You will have to wait until my next post for the second option, but meanwhile droll over The Geek Baby Book from Adams Media which is a memory journal for baby’s first year.  Yes, you can GEEK OUT now.

Now, if you want a baby journal that documents your baby’s first tooth, steps and basic general facts that are presented in most baby books – this is, and I repeat – NOT the book for you.  However, if you want a book for geek parents that want to document things like your child’s own superpower quiz, character sheets and rolling baby name generators with six-sided dice, then yes, you have found a journal for geek babies.  Sounds awesome, right?

Unlike when I was in high school, being a geek is actually pretty accepted and even considered a ‘cool’ thing now and to that I have to applaud the human race in general.  After all, most geeks I know are not passive about their entertainment, work hard at their jobs and have a general interest in many different subjects.  Why wouldn’t you want to pass on some geek-in-training to your new 0-level spawn?  Document the first time your baby watches Star Wars (Episode IV, of course) and special geekling quest, this is sure to be a wonderful history your child will love to read when they are older humanoids and perhaps adult geeks in their own right.
