Do you like chess, checkers & puzzle games? Then you’ll love Juxtabo!
Playing games isn’t just for fun, it also sharpens many skills like memory, recognition and skill-building challenges. Juxtabo just won the prestigious 2015 Brain Toy Award as the best brain-boosting material currently on the market. If you want an enjoyable family game that also can help your child develop tools that stimulate their mind and develop higher-order thinking skills, check out what Juxtabo has to offer.
Juxtabo is a 3-D game where players stack colorful circular pieces to create the patterns on their drawn challenge cards. If you can’t find the pattern, you must create it! The player who has successfully completed the most challenge cards at the end of the game wins. You create patterns by stacking up the colorful pieces and identifying the patterns needed in order to ‘complete’ each card. This is a quick game complete with a timer, so you have to be fast! You can have up to four card holders playing the game at once, so it can be quite lively while entertaining. The difficulty is drawing the color pieces necessary to stack up your patterns since you have to use the previous color in the pattern to effectively change it to a new color.

While some of the Juxtabo game is pure luck of the draw, it also takes quick thinking and analytical skills to design new patterns to complete each card draw. You want to conceal your challenge card and the excitement of the game is that you can ‘Juxtabo’ at any time, meaning if you see your pattern at any point in the game, you can call it out, show your pattern match and win that card! The game is for ages six and up although we were able to successfully play it with our five year old by keeping the pattern cards open and making it more of a community game yet with a clear winner. This is a great game that provides hours of enjoyment while flexing the brain muscle. There are 125 total challenge cards with 126 Juxtabo pieces, so while the game moves quickly there are a lot of moving parts to think about while playing.
