Can you Replace Family?
Winnie is a little girl who loves her family’s dog, Waldorf. In fact, Winnie considers Waldorf her best friend! It’s too bad her older sister can’t stand their dog and wants to replace him with a cat. She finds him embarrassing, crude and downright dirty. Waldorf just doesn’t fit in to Sara’s standards.
In the book, Winnie & Waldorf, Winnie wants to show her sister Sara that their family dog is not only a wonderful addition to their family, he is also very much part of their circle. Too bad Sara just doesn’t see it that way and Waldorf doesn’t help things by his funny canine behavior. Sara is convinced that Waldorf will ruin her violin recital and Winnie is quite worried that her dog will get traded in for another family pet. Can Waldorf behave and even save the day?
This book is so cute for kids who may want to trade in their sibling for a gerbil or fish! Family is family and we stick together, even through times where it is hard. Waldorf is a lovely reminder that while we can’t pick our family, we can choose to be happy to be part of one. Yay!
