Why shouldn’t deodorant come in a jar? It’s recyclable, easy to refill, and makes for a great conversation piece. But, I always get the same question over and over. How exactly do you put on the deodorant when it is in a jar? Isn’t it messy? It isn’t meant to be rude, just a curious question. I don’t mind explaining and even demonstrating, plus it gives me a great reason to talk about Ruma Organics and why using plant based, no artificial ingredients and no paraben deodorant is important to me.
SO – How do you use the jars of Ruma Organics as a deodorant?
Simple! Just apply a generous amount of the deodorant to your finger tips and gently it into your armpits making sure that you massage the cream into the skin. The coconut oil will soften once it contacts your skin which helps the cream soften and making it dissolve. See, simple!
Ruma Organics makes lots of products, but their most famous is their premier product of Organic Deodorant that is safe for everyday use. It is a blend of organic corn starch, aluminum free sodium bicarbonate, and organic virgin coconut oil, with your choice of three different types of essential oil depending on your preference. You can pick either peppermint , lavender or lemon essential oil blends and they all have a light and pleasant smell. You really can’t go wrong, but it is important that you read and learn about each essential oil (check out this page here) before you choice since they each have their own specific health benefits. My favorite is the peppermint deodorant. Now, let me tell you why!
The History and Uses of Peppermint
The Greeks and Romans used Peppermint during their feasts and adorned their tables with its sprays. It was common to cook with peppermint and use it in sauces and wine! Peppermint wine? Hmmmmm….
Native Americans used peppermint long before Europeans came to the United States for its oil. Peppermint Oil contains minerals and nutrients such as Iron, Manganese, Magnesium, Folate, Calcium, Potassium, Copper, Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Vitamin A, and Vitamin C making it a perfect relief of many symptoms.
Diluted Peppermint Oil on the skin is said to relieve skin irritants such as hives, poison ivy and oak. It has also been used for dermatitis, acne, ringworm, scabies and pruritus. It also relieves itching, sunburn and inflammation of the skin while having a nice cooling effect.
I personally find the scent of peppermint very pleasing and since I have sensitive skin, it does not irritate. The added bonus of the minerals and nutrients makes it a nice touch and it is especially nice to apply in the hot summer months for the cooling feeling!
More Than Just a Deodorant!
