Pinkalicious: Mother’s Day Surprise (Paperback)

Bring on the #1 Mom mugs, drawings of us together and key charms with ‘I heart Mom’!  I am SOOOOO excited that my oldest is making things for her parents with absolutely no reminder anymore just because she wants to do it.  Of course it does not matter what the gift is – from a hug to a book she wrote, everything Brooke does for me is met with the same surprise, happiness and appreciation because it comes from her.  While Mother’s Days o’ old were of Bob and Brooke working in collaboration (or even my FIRST Mother’s Day when she had yet to make her appearance outside the womb – awww!) Brooke now wants to do everything on her own and I don’t blame her.

I certainly remember making things for my mom for Mother’s Day and whether it was a purchase from the public school trinket shop or a homemade gift, I was always very proud of my work.  I imagine my mom got enough erasers or coin purses to last her a lifetime and yet it doesn’t make the sweetness of Mother’s Day any less special.  Brooke and I loved reading the latest Pinkalicious book where Pink is trying to make her mom the PERFECT breakfast in bed and homemade poem for Mother’s Day.  Writing the most thoughtful original poem can be tricky and Pinkalicious is not happy with what she has done and can’t seem to finish in time.  Oh no!

This is an awesome book for Mother’s Day and great for parents and kids to read together.  I love the message from Pink’s mom that the reason Mother’s Day is so special is because of her kiddos.  How true!  The paperback also comes with an activity poster and two special frames to draw and customize with Mother’s Day stickers as an added bonus.  Hey, I think I know what I’m getting from Brooke on my big day!  SCORE!
