Almost a year ago when we were eating supper, I saw Brooke get up from the table and throw her napkin away. “Good for her!” I thought. She is so grown up now and is able to take care of her things. I smiled. Then Bob, realizing something was up, said, “Brooke, where’s your chicken?” She sheepishly said, “I was so hungry, I ate all of it – even the bone!” Oh, Really?!
Now that is a story I want to retell to Brooke when she is older. Even with the ‘no waste food lecture’, it was a pretty hilarious foiled scheme carried out by my preschooler at the time. Good thing I had just the place to share the story in a journal time capsule.
