I get it. It’s hard to want to make meals from scratch, clean and do dishes after a long and busy day. And this is from a family who LOVES to cook yet life gets in the way of our foodie tendencies. Bob and I have a constant struggle to provide healthy and nutritious meals and snacks to our daughters (and us!) while running on little fuel. It’s easy to go through a drive-thru window, I admit, but we have learned it is almost just as easy to plan ahead and prep meals (usually the night before) so that if we are tempted to purchase pre-cooked meals, we know we have things at home that are half-way done. Plus, getting our kids involved in their health and including them in meal preparation seems to make them want to make healthier choices. While we have treats here and there and the occasional pre-made meal, our oldest actually likes to keep us on our toes about eating healthy, too! I guess our diligence is paying off. Do I get a cookie for that? Ha! Just kidding!
