I do not know what has happened to me except – sigh – age. A few years ago, I could run a mile (which was infrequent, mind you, but I would walk an average of three miles a day, no sweat!) without much training and feel fantastic. Now, I WALK a mile and my hip can hurt the next day. Is this what my in-laws were talking about when they said ENJOY YOUR YOUTH – OLD AGE HURTS? Oh crap! I didn’t listen much until it approached me and now I really realize that the next steps in getting older without feeling like I’m FALLING APART is to take proper care of myself. OK, I get it now. No need for ‘being old hurts’ talks because I think I got the point now.
I am a huge believer in caring for your skin (I do like products that are USDA certified organic) and I’ve always had a pretty decent regiment until my latest endeavor because I never really thought about skin care for aching muscles. If you love to run or, like me, are becoming a (pseudo) runner (I will love it some day, I swear!), you will NEED muscle rub at some point. It think it may be mandatory. And Moon Valley Organics makes ‘ze best’ one I can imagine unless of course it came with an actual masseuse. While I’m only conditioning myself for 5Ks (yeah, I know..it does count!) I still need this muscle rub at least once a week or just feeling sore at the end of the day. Their rub is AWESOME, not too stinky, not too strong and a real incentive to keep going. So, naturally, when I saw that Moon Organics had little gift collections for their other products, ya know I had to try it!

Muscle Rub. Yup, I discussed why this product is so great above. Awesome stuff!
Lotion Bar. The beeswax lotion bars are made especially for chapped hands and this one has a yummy vanilla-lemon scent. And Well, I can’t say too much about this product since my husband already ‘stole’ it from me. I pretty much said the words – “Wow, this bar is so silky and smooth! I bet it would be a great thing to use before you shave…!” and it was gone. He basically said he likes to use it before he shaves and that’s about as descriptive as he is going to get. That should be enough for his stamp of approval, though, I promise you.
Lip Balm. I LOVE this lip balm. It has a hint of lemon and, just like the lotion bar, goes on so silky and smooth. I really do not like lip balms that have a hard feel, like ones that are too waxy. I have dry skin, I like balms that go on like butter. This one is perfect!
Overall, we (my husband and I – ha!) are happy with this collection. It is great for dry skin and the muscle rub has been very good to us. Plus, these products are made with care in the state of Washington and Moon Valley Organics has many great lines of products that was conceived out of a passion to live ethically and sustainably. Need I say more?
