“All the Pretty Horses”, or “Hush-a-bye”, is a traditional American lullaby that has inspired many cover songs and even novels. Musicians from Joan Baez to The New Christy Minstrels have adapted this lullaby to music and now we have a new beautiful version by Cat Doorman.

Cat Door-who? Don’t tell me you haven’t heard Julianna Bright’s children’s music yet? If so, you are in for a real treat. This four song EP is so sweet and catchy that you will get a great taste for what Julianna does as a fabulous musician. This Portland, OR artist has great rockin’ tunes for kids, a lovely voice and lyrics that have depth.

Now, you may be curious about the name Julianna chose for her kid’s music. I know I was! Well, it’s simple really. Cat Doorman was named after musician, Melody Owen’s cat, Lola, who was staying with Bright, her daughter and husband, Seth Lorinczi (Portland’s 2Track Mind Studio.) Apparently, Lola had her ‘humans’ trained to let her in and out all day and – BAM!- the name Cat Doorman was born.

I am always genuinely thrilled when artists take the time to write meaningful lyrics for families and Julianna’s words are as lovely as her harmonies. Her talent is not limited to music, she is also an accomplished artist who designs her own covers. Is there anything she can’t do?!
