It is tough to support yourself while going to college here in the United States. It’s even harder if you are a female living in Uganda. Reading about the stories of the women who work for Sseko is quite inspiring. Not only do they make beautiful shoes, they have all completed Sseko’s nine month employment program so that they can continue college studies. The Sseko website allows you to get to know each of these women and even keep up with them after they graduate. Oh, and don’t let me forget to tell you about Sseko’s fabulous sandals! I am partial to their ribbon sandals that are so comfortable, unique and can be worn in so many ways. The choices seem endless! There are some fantastic ‘how to tie videos’ on the Sseko website where you can learn many different techniques and styles on how to wear your ribbon sandals. In fact, the website says there are over 50 different ties you can do for these sandal straps. Wow!

I love that you can make your sandal unique and Sseko also sells additional color ribbons and accessories if you want to add embellishment.
