Francis Lincoln Children’s Books!
I may love to spend time outdoors with my family, but I had a bad weather stipulation. When the season of winter falls upon us I am like a bear that wants to hibernate until it gets warm again. But, not my oldest girl. She thrives on cold weather and THINKS (since we live in Austin) she loves snow. The colder the better. I thought maybe it was time I changed my perspective for her. But how do I motivate myself to brave the great outdoors instead of getting under a blanket and wanting hot cocoa?
It helps to be able to get out and move when you have fun activities. The Wild Weather Book is a great way to get up and outdoors when the weather gets rainy and, yes, even downright cold because it provides a lot of idea for fun activities when the weather isn’t perfect and sunny.
It’s raining outside – let’s get out and play! Don’t huddle cooped up indoors on a bad weather day: wrap up in warm clothes or waterproofs and get out of doors for some fun.
That’s easy SAID than done, am I right? What is there to do outside when the weather is not ideal?
Apparently a ton of things!
The Wild Weather Book has so many suggestions for things to do outdoors in rain, wind and snow. Now – my warning for parents- most of these suggestions are not for those who don’t like to get messy. In fact, many of the ideas are designed to get down and dirty outside but some are quite simple and do not require a major shower as soon as you go inside. Take pictures of icy patterns? Sure! Look for animals that come out in the rain? No problem. Each page is filled with cool ideas that are complete with fun pictures of children doing the activities. Your child can never say they are bored on a rainy day if you follow that book and it may even inspire parents to not stay cooped up inside just because the sun isn’t shining.
Let’s take some tips from the book and get out and enjoy the weather – no matter how wild it may be….!
