KARMA card game (for Families)
Karma is an elimination game where What Goes Around… Comes Around!
We love the SET Junior games, so when I heard of their latest award-winning game, Karma, I had to try it out. Unlike the Junior sets, this is more of an age 8+ game that you can play with 2-6 people or even combine TWO sets to play with up to 12. WOW. OK, so how does it work. We all know what Karma means, right?
kar·ma
noun \ˈkär-mə also ˈkər-\ the force created by a person’s actions that some people believe causes good or bad things to happen to that person (cite: Webster’s Dictionary)
This is great for parties and for families with older children. It’s simple yet challenging and with 60 cards in the deck it can go quite fast or quite slow depending on how your own ‘KARMA’ shakes out. BTW, the KARMA cards are a bit like a free for all. Basically, during each turn a player puts down a card of equal or higher value to the turned up card avoid picking up the entire discard pile! Yowsa! But, wait, you can go through your cards faster by playing doubles or triples of the same number. Oh yeah! You can also play until one person runs out or (with multiple players) until the last person is holding all the cards. Personally, I like FAST paced and since it was Bob and I against each other, it took very little time to play a round.
I am definitely looking forward to teaching Brooke when she gets older and plan to bust it out next time my parents are in town. They are the ultimate gamers of the 20th century, but I’ve got some practice on this one. It’s definitely not all luck – it is KARMA!
