Preethi Full Punjammies by International Princess Project
Created by Women in India Who Wish to Remain Free from Sex-Slavery
I admit, I have a huge love of all things that smack slouchy/hippie/yoga-y and, well, ME. I’m not a big person, so I can get lost in material easily, but saw these adorable prints and pants from International Princess Project I knew would work with me and when I read more about their story, I said, “YES!” See, these aren’t just any cute pair of slouchy pants for me to wear and feel cute in around the house and Austin, these pants serve a much bigger purpose. Certainly much more than my usual pairs I wear.
What are Punjammies? They are super cute pants for women made BY women in India who wish to remain free from sex-slavery. Wow. Yes, wow.
Sex-slavery is a huge business and in places like India the toll and problem is not only high (estimated 4 MILLION affected of mostly women and children) it is VISIBLE. Ouch! India’s sex-slavery market is illegal, but it is also GROWING! Yikes! The International Princess Project was started by Shannon Keith who witnessed this modern day slavery and she wanted to do something about it. Her commitment started with just six women sewing for the project and she envisions helping thousands of women as the project expands.
The Preethi Full Punjammi pants are comfortable, adorable and also AFFORDABLE while serving a much bigger purpose in helping women and children in India be free of the sex trade market. I can’t think of a better cause to buy a cute pair of pants. I mean, really! Do check out their 2014 and upcoming 2015 catalog and I also love their capri pants and tees, too.
