A song of hope for the holidays
Lisa Loeb was my hero in high school! A singer songwriter who PLAYED guitar as a female!!!! For some odd reason, I loathed female singers who couldn’t PLAY an instrument. Maybe it was because I played multiple instruments so my snobbish attitude that males were only in the limelight coupled with the way I was treated while looking at music stores (here’s an EASY instrument for you to play, little girl) made me ANNOYED. When female musicians came out of the woodwork, I supported them wholeheartedly. Lisa Loeb was one. I just LOVE her.
Now, Lisa is Jewish so this is a Hannukah song. This isn’t the usual spin of the dreidel or eating some delicious latkes (mmmm latkes) with apple sauce this is about Celebrating the joy of the season, noted singer-songwriter. The song “Light” tells the inspiring story of hope in the darkness, the song captures the essence of the metaphor of
Hanukkah, that no matter how little there is left, there is always hope.
