Grandparent and Grandchild Letter Book

Connecting Hearts and Histories

I almost lost both my grandparents in 2014 and my last remaining father-in-law moved abruptly to Argentina.  To say that didn’t affect me, I’d be lying.  My grandpa Chapman ended up losing his leg to save his life and my Grandpa Paxton, who is hard of hearing, is difficult to talk to from Austin.  It pains me to say that I realized I didn’t really know them.  My children don’t know them. I knew I wanted to do something but what?  Enter Whitney Biggs who has done her share of making families closer.  Letters and e-mails flowed back and forth as I tried to grasp on to something I never had; understanding.  My grandparents grew up in poverty and got out.  It wasn’t easy, they still live in a impoverished area but I wanted to know MORE.  Thank goodness they are still of sound mind to help me understand.  My kids want to understand.  Whitney’s Treasured Passages book has made that possible.  To that, I am forever grateful.

Grandparents and grandchildren of all ages can communicate back and forth through the cards provided in each vintage styled Letter Book. With each card sent, you will feel loved, grow closer, and begin building a treasured keepsake together.

Look to each page for instructions, and then decide if you want to follow them or make up your own. Use the letter book with one grandchild or several. Add your own photos, ideas and creativity. The cards, once completed, can be tucked back into the nooks and crannies of the book creating the most special history book your family will ever read.

These books are nostalgic. They create lasting communication. In this age of instant communication that also instantly disappears, the Letter Books are a way to enrich relationships as well as to preserve memories, family recipes, hopes, and even more important, our own voices. We still believe in the power of a love letter, whether it is to your sweetheart, your child, or your grandmother.

The book includes a storage drawer with 40 cards and envelopes. Hardback book with 20 pages.

About the Author: Whitney Biggs wants mothers and daughters to keep their lines of communication open and share their lives with each other.  Whitney is a cancer survivor who lost her mom to cancer too soon.  Faced with the reality that her small children could grow up without knowing her, she came to believe that chronicling memories was the best gift you can give your loved ones.  What a beautiful message that shows through her keepsake books.  Check out the Treasured Passages website for her other keepsake books for friends, and couples.
