I recently needed help. Like major help. Work was tough, Bob’s Stay At Home Dad-dom was coming to a close and I had NO IDEA what to do. On top of that my chronic back pain was so bad I couldn’t (and still can’t) sit or stand for more than 15 minutes without pain. Then my good friend passed away. In that order. I HAD TO DO SOMETHING!
I couldn’t do it alone. I had help. I feel the same way about poverty. It is NOT easy to get out of poverty. How do I know? Well, I grew up around it. Appalachia is stricken with it. My parents were social workers (now retired) and my sister followed in their footsteps.
Poverty affects many people and not just in the United States. In fact, we do a somewhat ‘decent’ job despite our own issues yet some countries have a much harder time. It’s not that people DON’T want to work, they just don’t have work. On top of that many women and children have no outlet, no Health and Human Services, no….well, nothing. So, during the holiday season THINK of what you BUY. What does it do? Does it help those who need it?
There are SO many cute and cool products by those living in poverty who WANT to improve their situations. Products you would buy anyway for almost the same price here in the U.S.A. I’m not saying to not buy American products, on the contrary, most of my reviews are about American products, but that does not mean I do not care about the world on a macro scale. We should all care about all of our fellow humans no matter where they live and work, in my humble opinion. And, wow, if there is one product I seriously love, it’s the Krochet Kids items. They are adorable, amazing, affordable and made for all ages and sizes.
