Good Night Moon, Buenas Noches, Luna (Board Book)
Children’s Literary Classic in Spanish!
I am desperately trying to teach Brooke Spanish even though it’s my second language….and a mediocre one at that. I have tried so hard to incorporate words and phrases and since her Papa (grandpa) is living in Argentina we’ve been able to use it a lot more frequently. Luckily, while I struggle, Brooke’s at the perfect age to learn and recall language…or as Maria Montessori calls it, she is in her ‘sensitive period’ of acquiring language skills. Yes!
There aren’t many parents I know that aren’t fans of the nighttime children’s storybook Good Night Moon by Margaret Wise Brown and Clement Hurd. First published in 1947 (yes, that is 47), this book has become a children’s classic and a favorite in our house. For those of you who have been living under a rock, the book revolves around a little bunny sweetly saying goodnight to everything in his room. It is one of the bedtime books I have memorized and one of the few times I ever get to say the word mush on an almost daily basis. To be able to read it in this English/Spanish combo to my kids is fantastic!
