The CALAFANT Concept – Let children build their dream (castles)!
When I first saw Boris Schimanski’s cardboard artwork, I was like – WOAH! Really!? The details were/are amazing. We’ve done our share of cardboard box toys but this by far was the most intricately designed, but still just as easy to put together. Just be ready to vacuum right after!
Boris Schimanski is a pretty famous cartoonist from Germany that started making his own cardboard creations for his own two children. His kids loved his cardboard designs more than their plastic toys. Plus – genius! When they grow out of it, it easy get recycled. Brilliant, right? I think so!
So, since CALAFANT is a German company, I’ll quickly explain their English-translated website. The designs are done in certain ‘LEVELS’ from amateur to complex. Since we are somewhat experienced in the cardboard creations world, I went with the Level 3 (or L3 as it is called) PALACE. I mean look at this completed version:
Let your children decorate this amazing castle any way they want! Paint, glitter, etc, etc….your crafty folks can even add fabrics! This is super Fun; amazingly and surprisingly inexpensive way to make your VERY OWN PALACE. Now where’s my crown? Ha ha.
