I like math.  OK, I take that back.  I LOVE ECONOMICS, which includes that stats factor.  In fact, I had no idea how much I loved it until I took my first class at 15.  Money was always a much-talked about and sore subject in my household, so as soon as I learned HOW TO learn and control it through research I was ALL into it.  And, really, since the beginning of Adam Smith’s quest to explain economics I was hooked.  I have my own ideas and philosophies including how we are operating on a macro-scale, but it’s not a subject I bring up to anyone except other economists or people who can TALK about money without freaking out.

However, I’m teaching my kiddos about money.  It’s not something scary.  In fact, money is IMAGINARY.  It’s made up.  It’s just a unit of exchange.  But, you can get into a LOT of trouble if you don’t know how to budget and pay bills.  That’s why I LOVE this book.  It discusses bank accounts, earning and multiplying money and currencies around the world.  From one penny to a billion bucks, it is ALL relevant to our lives on earth.

Experiment!  Experiment!  Experiment!  Kids experiment with various substances to clean coins, scientifically test coin components, design their own currency, and plan how to allocate their own money.
