This is such a fun book! First, my oldest daughter is slightly obsessed with cats. We DO have three! So, she has been pretending to be a cat from probably age two and on and still continues as her preschooler self. This is the premise of the ‘witch’s cat’. For one, the mother is not REALLY a witch and the child is not REALLY a cat, but it is fun to see the imagination of the youngster and how her mom interacts with her and her ‘cat suit’!
Some gems from the book:
- I know my mom is a witch because she keeps ‘strange potions’ in the bathroom that I’m not allowed to touch
- ……because she grows a ‘magical’ herb garden
- ……because when her friends come over they sit around and CACKLE and swap ‘spells’ AKA cooking books.
The witch’s cat’s imagination is lovely to read and it is a fun story that sucks you in. Brooke thinks it is hilarious and it’s perfect for the Halloween season!
