I don’t remember ever owning rain boots. When it rained my shoes were sloshy. It is just the way it was. Here I thought living in Austin, TX would be the land o’ no rain…but au contraire. My first year living in Austin (on E. Riverside BEFORE they cleaned it up) and on my way home from work, the downpour started. See, the water comes fast and furious and there isn’t enough time to soak into our dry ground. It FLOODS. It STINKS. Fortunately (or unfortunately due to our hot summers and potential for fires), this down-pouring of rain is usually here and gone within a day. But, boy, when it comes, get off the road and get out of the way! And, get some good OVERBOOTS!
Yes, I said OVERBOOTS. Who needs rainboots, when you can wear your own shoes and just slip on your cool overboots over them until you come inside. PURE KID GENIUS. Ususally you just need to get one size up for the overboots so they can EASILY fit over your kid’s shoes.
