My love of Halloween started as a kid. My parents always made it fun. My mom by decorating and getting us those cheapie masks with the elastic bands in all kinds of designs (Reagan, Shirt Tails, Wonder Women, etc.) and my dad who can build things made a life-sized casket to scare the beegeesus out of kids coming for candy. It was awesome!

I started a tradition five years ago of doing family costumes and I plan to keep it up until our oldest isn’t into it anymore. What would we do this year? We’ve done bees, zoo theme, farmers, skeletons and now this year….PIRATES!!!!!

Brooke is obsessed with pirates (thank you, Jake and the Neverland Pirates!) so we concluded we could all be pirates with one exception. Baby Brie! She was going to be our ‘parrot’ mascot. This is what started my quest to search for a perfect parrot costume for an almost one year old baby. I found it!
