FIRE! I’ve seen the aftermath destruction of an entire family’s life. I’ve seen it used to cook delicious meals. I’ve seen it used in controlled burns for land preservation. I’ve – well, I’ve also had second degree burns – and those were scary enough! I guess what I’m saying is………I am NOT brave enough to be a firefighter. Nope. Never.

But, how do you explain that to a 4-year old?

FIRE IS HOT. FIREFIGHTING IS DANGEROUS. THESE MEN AND WOMEN ARE BRAVE.

Well, once again, an imprint of HarpersCollins Children’s Books has done it. They personified a VERY hilarious fire truck who thinks he is HOT STUFF but also is very knowledgable and educational about what he does as a fireman…ahem….firetruck.

This is an awesome book that brings learning about the entire fire fighting process (the tool guessing game was a HOOT!) and this little question Mr. “I’m so Brave” Firetruck says at the end of the book when kids are asked the question with an obvious answer;

“Brave, that’s what. And GOOD LOOKING!””
