Do you know how when you are going through a rough time; nothing seems to be going right! And then – you start a new focus. On something fun and positive. AND MAKE IT HAPPEN! Yeah, well, that’s what we are doing. It’s been a rough year for the Momma’s Bacon family between things like work, finances, school, health, kids and well, just how FAST life is going. Bob and I spent our 10 year wedding anniversary waiting for me to be furloughed from work (he’s a SAHD) and having a baby that was just four weeks old. So, now we want to CELEBRATE. It may be our 10+1 year anniversary, but we are making it happen. But, with LOTS of help!
Fast forward almost 11 years ago, Bob and I decided to elope and instead my mom and grandma threw together the coziest tiny family wedding in my grandparent’s backyard. It was so special. It was awesome. Yet, we never really planned a real wedding. With a real wedding dress. With quirky cowboy stuff Bob loves and kooky hippie-ish things I love. If this tells you anything, I wore my mom’s Earth Shoes from middle school into high school until they completely FELL apart.
I saw these shoes and said, “WHAT A LOVELY PAIR FOR OUR FLOWER GIRL!” who just happens to be our daughter, Brooke! You see, I plan to get something close to that for myself, so it was a match made in our renewal wedding vow ceremony heaven.
I am OH SO EXCITED to be celebrating our 10+1 year renewal vow wedding ceremony in October that I am just over the moon in planning and preparation. And you know what? Bob and I had a tough year, but we got through it. We always do. Just like well worn – or in this case – vintage-looking shoes, we are a strong yet comfortable pair. And I am a glutton for strong and comfortable. These shoes definitely fit the ticket and just LOOK at our AMAZING flower girl!
This is Brooke’s first time trying on her shoes and flower girl dress. She was so excited I couldn’t get her to sit still or smile (with her eyes open!) Ha! Don’t worry, I plan to get lots of GREAT pics on our renewal vow wedding day to share on my blog!
Now my other daughter, another flower girl, who wanted her picture taken, too! “Now I just need my flower crown, crochet shoes, basket and petals. See, mommy, I’m keeping you on track!”
