I lululu lOVE food. At first, my reluctance at spending any sort of money on something that just ‘passes through your body’ was deeply ingrained by my cheapskate father. Yet little by little over the many years we have shared together, his food loves have started to rub off on me! Oh no! I’m becoming a ‘GASP’ food snob! No! I can even tell you the very second that it happened…
Bob convinced me to try dry aged steak. Have you ever -? If no, then go get some now! Plus it had fresh cracked peppercorns.. medium rare. And, I was like, “Where have you been all my life?!?!” It was as if my taste buds woke up for the first time. I wanted more!
So, it was only natural for us to want to jazz and spice up our kiddos foods. In fact, Brooke’s pedi encouraged it! We certainly didn’t need it. Nutmeg on her pumpkin puree, cinnamon on her oats, etc. We like to try new foods as a family and do this ‘two bite’ rule. If you take at least two bites and still don’t like it…ok. But you might just be surprised!
Holy Tropical Breakfast Bars and Chicken Kiev Patties – this isn’t your average baby food! It’s like – yes, what I want to eat in bite size potions. Perfect! Because, seriously, Crisp Tofu Skewers win in my book every time when compared to —–oh, let’s say Stage 2 Red Pasta Goo. Yum, yum! I love making food…oh wait, let me re-phrase that – I love BOB making food for our family together – no separate meals, no nice little purees… we are now a one pot dinner family – just with certain portions. And, that is COOL.
