I remember the day we found out Bob got laid off. We were, strangely enough, in Austin, Texas for the ACL Music Festival. Yes, they told him over the phone. On his vacation. Somehow we ended up living in Austin not too much later. I know that feeling of – uh oh! Now what? How did this happen? What did I do wrong? And then, one day (hopefully soon), you pick yourself up and say – NO MORE! I’m moving on up! And, yes, Shernetta McGhee’s story inspired me.
Her own layoff right here in A-town inspired an entire new career IN FASHION FOR KIDS! But that is not all, I love her message in her designs, especially her most adorable tie dyed beautiful Austin-Worthy (although she has since relocated to Fort Worth) DRESSES!

The beautiful tie dye bandana DREAM dress. What a wonderful message for our girls. Plus, what an adorable design! I immediately thought “BROOKE” and she, of course said, “OHHHHH, BEAUTIFUL!”
Then, since I’m a reviewer and all *cough cough*, I started thinking about DREAMS implemented. Something inside of you that you want to get out into the world and share. Something big! Something beautiful! It’s inspirational when you see people DOING IT. Now Shernetta admits Fort Worth is her stepping stone, a home away from Austin after her layoff and a place to start her business, but she’s MAKING IT HAPPEN. And she is doing it with her entire family’s help. The lovely model? Her daughter! Her biggest advocates; her kids. And now Momma’s Bacon.
