Daytrip Society: Unique gifts inspired by nature and travel
I grew up on PBS (out of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio) since it was one of the few channels we could pick up in the SE Ohio village where I grew up and it helped me ‘go places’ and ‘see things’ outside my own little world. Interestingly, one of my college friends ended up running the station and our family does support the public education service for kids as a side note to a child’s education. One of our favorite shows is called The Daytripper here in Austin, TX.
What is a Daytripper?
day-tripper. a person who goes on a trip, especially an excursion, lasting all or part of a day but not overnight. day-tripper definition. a tourist who makes one-day trips. (Cite: Dictionary.com)
Our family is definitely daytrippers! With two littles it is so much easier to plan one day trips around our beautiful Austin. I had no idea there was a society devoted to daytripping out of Kennebunkport, Maine and I just LOVE their online store. The most amazing find? The super cool BUG BINGO game for the seasoned daytripping family.
What is Bug Bingo?
Bug Bingo is a beautifully illustrated bingo game that features 64 species of bugs from around the world. It is a plethora of insects to identify and mark off your bingo cards! The game has 64 illustrated bug tokens, one board, 12 bingo cards, and brightly colored counters to mark up your card. My favorite? The cool leaflet containing basic information and a few quirky traits for all of the bugs featured and ways to learn more with your kiddos. Two daytripping thumbs up!
“Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not”
