The Original Keychain Car Escape Tool

Have you ever been in a really bad car accident?  I have and it is scary!  The worst was when Bob and I were driving with his dad and then step-mother in Florence, KY on our way back to Cincinnati, Ohio on I-75.  We were probably going around 70 mph (the speed limit) on four lanes of traffic when we got sideswiped not once, but TWICE, by a semi-truck in Bob’s dad’s little Chevy Aveo.  We had recently been on a trip to Kings Island amusement park and that was the only thing I could think about as we spun around many times was ‘this feels like the roller coaster ride, the Beast’.  As the semi hit us TWICE until we flew over three lanes of traffic and skidded across the cement median in the middle of the highway that caused the driver’s seat window to shatter and bust two of the car’s four tires.  It was scary!

What we know now but didn’t at the time was that if Bob’s dad – a three tour 100% service-connected disabled Vietnam Vet – had not done some serious defensive driving none of us would be here today.  Now, think about that!  I know I do!  As we all sat in shock of how to get out of the vehicle in the middle of a highway that was wrecked with only scratches and cuts from the glass was nothing short of miraculous.  We all walked away.  But, that is not always the case.

How it Works

To use the resqme Tool:

  1. Pull the tool from its blade guard clip.
  2. Cut jammed seat belt with the steel blade.
  3. Break the Glass by pressing the black head of the tool against the corner of your window to release the spring-loaded spike that will shatter the window.

Resqme Do

Get to know your Resqme!  The Resqme won’t do you a lot of good unless you learn and practice how to use it.  Check out this video here on how you use this device under a stressful car situation.
