Bluum Box Subscription (Pregnancy to Preschool)

Discover a Monthly Box of New Goodies for Mom & Baby!

Brie is now over nine months old (racing closer to September when she turns one…wow) which means I actually have to keep her a little more entertained than reading a few books, flashing some lights and scaring her so she laughs.  Le sigh.  It was nice while it lasted.

The last time around, I had way more time to research products for Brooke but now with a preschooler (who has an unlimited supply of energy – I am not joking) I am lucky to look at one blog in the morning before work after working on my posts.  It can be frustrating for a parent who likes to know about different learning tools on the market.  I heard from a friend that Bluum Box was sending her baby daughter the BEST STUFF each month and I HAD to try it.  She said ‘it was customized down to the day of your baby’s birth date and gender’ up to preschool age and there are even items in the box for moms!  For me, too?  How nice!

OK, I was convinced, I wanted to see just how much one Bluum box – for someone who is around 10 months old – would work for Brie.  Just how remarkable could it be?  Would this be my source of product research now?  Luckily, Bluum Box also offers a monthly rate to test it out for reluctant people like me.

Here’s what I found out and how my first month box process went:

How does Bluum Customize My Child’s Box?

There is a pretty simple questionnaire you fill out online in order to get a customized box for your child if they are between the ages of birth to preschool age.  Here is how mine went:

  • Boy/Girl/Don’t Know Yet?  Girl
  • Baby Name: Brie
  • Baby’s Birth Date/Due Date: XXXXXX Approx. 10 months old

Then there is a place for your shipment and billing information.  So far, so good and I soon got an e-mail saying Brie will receive a box in the next shipment for May.  Goody, goody!  Now, we wait.  Sigh.  Stay tuned!

Shipment Arrival Day:  Shipments are mid-month, so we had a little wait. The first thing I noticed after ripping open the box was that the box had an appropriate theme for a ten-month old who is ALL ABOUT FOOD!  Yes, Brie has new chompers and is ready to use them!

What did it include?

  1. Bumpkins waterproof bibWe love our Bumpkins long sleeved bib which is perfect for little artists who want to finger paint.  We love We Can Too Art all natural and edible finger paints for kids at Brooke’s stage.  It was fun to test out their short sleeve bib, which is just as adorable and made with the license of Disney characters (in this case, Winnie-the Pooh! Yes!)  Superbibs retails for $ 6.95.
  2. Dr. Seuss Cindy Lou Who Divided Melamine Plate.  This tray has tons of compartments and since I (now we) am a sucker for all things books and Christmas (just check out my Pinterest book on Christmas Family yumminess products for the home here that I’ve been compiling for years.  Since we love and study children’s book we knew right away that this was a Seuss Christmas theme tray but we will probably end up using it all year round.  It may end up in our annual Christmas decorations box that I begin using right after Thanksgiving but we may use it all year ’round.  Why not?!  Love this! Retails at $6.99
  3. Lamby Picnic Pal Finger Puppet by Apple Park.  I don’t know about you, but I’ve always wanted an ApplePark product, but wouldn’t purchase this unless I had the cash flow on my own since they are a boutique and heirloom quality which means not so cheap.  But, their products are so adorable and worth it that I would have purchased this if I could outside of this box. Apple Park Picnic Pal Finger puppets relations for $ 12.00.
  4. 7th Heaven mask samples for parents.  The cool thing about Bluum box is that they never leave out little gifts for parents.  It was so much fun for me to sort through the 7th Heaven masks and even more fun to use for relaxation bath when the kids are asleep = truly a luxury.  List Price is $2.99 per sample pack.  Box included three samples at $2.99 each which is a total of $8.95.
  5. RePlay Snack Traps.  This was my favorite inclusion!  We so needed new snack traps now that Brie is ALL OVER finger food, so snack traps were always awesome for us to use with Brooke on the go.  These snack trays are durable, thick and made out of recycled material.  They are easy to open (screw top) and easy to connect as much snack traps as you would like.  The Bluum box contains a set of two.  RePlay Snack Traps in a package of two retails at $ 5.99.

Total Retail Value: $  40.88!  As you can see, a great deal for the 24.95 a month subscription box!  Wowsa!

Overall Review:  We were so happy with our July Bluum box for our almost-ten month old- Oh man!-Ms. Brie!  It was fun, age appropriate and I like the mom/child combo gift box.  Yippee!  Brie is all about food right now, and this box not only gave me access to products I’ve never tried, they focus on eco-friendly products which was included when I filled out what type of box I’d like for my oldest.  They did a great job with pulling together these products for us!

Check it out!  I also ran across this bento box Dr. Seuss Pinterest boards to make the Dr. Seuss tray and meal experience even more fun for your preschooler!  Check it out here.
