Drama!  We LOVE it, don’t we?  Who reads celebrity gossip?  No?  You didn’t just click on that headline a few minutes ago….that one flashing in red?  Oh, ok.  Sorry, I thought I mistook you for a human being. Ha!

Drama is especially important to a preschooler.  My daughter is the biggest improv queen and I swear she tells stories as if they actually happened.  Like dragon stories.  It’s amazing.  She told me the other day that her stuffed bear animal friend, Growl, had flown to space to bring her back a daisy (which was really a dandelion.)  I mean, deep stuff, but you know, I tend to forget that as her amazing stories float about my head.  She is just so interesting.

It totally makes sense to me to pair children and Egyptologists.  This ancient civilization made epic tales that fascinate and in this book by the marvelous Marcia Williams (who, by the way, brilliantly illustrated the book as well…) tells these mythology tales in a comical way that kids will ‘get’.  This is so full of history and it is really hilarious to read all the wild things about ancient Egypt.

Fun Fact!  Pharaoh Cleo bathed in donkey’s milk to improve her skin!
