Any man can be a father, it takes a real man to be a daddy!
I love dads who play an active role in their kids lives. My husband has been a Stay at Home Dad (SAHD) for four years and, while challenging, it has always been a rewarding experience for our girls. It takes a lot of patience, strength and humbleness to raise children and men in our country are learning this hands-on with the population of SAHDs increasing. Now, just because you are not a SAHD does not mean you can’t play an active role in your child’s life, but I will say my husband plays a much bigger daddy role as the primary caregiver. While still unique, it is getting more excepted and Austin even has it’s own SAHD group.
The girls, especially my oldest, has somewhat morphed into a tiny version of her father that sometimes I think of the old The Patty Duke Show lyrics:
They laugh alike, they walk alike,
At times they even talk alike —
You can lose your mind,
Whencousinsdads and kids are two of a kind
Well, now we can add a line to the song that says, “At times they even DRESS alike”!
Yes, Daddy and Company (Remember the I’m the Daddy Scrubs?) have designed super cute shirts (60/40 Cotton/Poly blend) for fathers and kids in their brand new summer collection. Awesome! There are SO many cute daddy and toddler t-shirt sets, but our favorite was the Old School Daddy tee paired with the New School Toddler tee which features a record player on daddy’s shirt and an iPod on the toddler tee. How adorable!
