I am a proud momma. Not only is Brooke interested in learning to read, she is very interested in learning to write! I may have also mentioned I am a wipe-off board freak. Once I got a laminator, it was like “Watch out, world! There is no stopping the wipe-off things I can create now!” We have a few small wipe-off boards that also are magnetized, and we also have some ABC magnets for fun play, too. I love the Priddy Wipe Clean Learning Books that take the wipe-off boards to a new level which is so great. MacMillan has a wonderful new Priddy write-off books into Play and Learn pack that includes lots of great tracing books just for Brooke!
The Play and Learn with Wallace (the cartoon dog) Wipe and Clean Workbook packet comes with several awesome trace and learn books for kids three and up! Basically, the books have lined paper on each page with doted letters for children to practice their ABCs, 1-2-3’s, shapes and even drawing animals with a wipe-off marker that is included. This makes it very easy for a young child to see what they need to follow and they can try over and over (and over) again. There are colorful pictures starting with each letter of the alphabet on each page and the book is just very pleasing on the eye. It includes both upper and lowercase letters for each alphabet letter and it was really cool to see Brooke want to draw lowercase letters. The book also includes several first concepts besides writing; like counting, sorting, color recognition and drawing. I would highly recommend this to children who are learning how to write.
