“Grandma is your mom, right?” Brooke seems to ask me this question a few times a month now.

I think she likes to make sure that the fact that her grandma is also my mom has not changed since the last time she asked.  It seems to boggle her mind that I used to be a kid and had a mom like her.  To be honest, it sort of boggles my mind, too.  My mom had to raise three kiddos while I am slightly perplexed at how I am going to get through the next eighteen years with two!  I had to laugh at this adorable book Brooke loves about grandkids and a grandma because it rang close to home and it is also perfect for Mother’s Day!

Let’s Dance, Grandma! is a new book from HarpersCollins that very sweetly discusses how grandkids can wear out their grandparents.  The last time my mom visited, I could see that our little energetic Brooke was exhausting her with her constant trips outside in the hot Austin sun to running and dancing in circles until she collapsed.  I think my parents were glad I invested in a little activity nook for Brooke that included a little TV with Curious George.  Ha!  Do grandmas really dance?  Sure, they do!  It just has to be with a special person, like their granddaughter.  They also may need to take a long nap afterwards.  Love, love, love this book!
