Get the Kids Moving, Learning, and Having Fun!

When Brooke was just over six months old, Bob (my stay-at-home-dad hubby) went on a spree of attending free introductory classes for kids around Austin. It was a two-fold great experience; from getting him out of the house after six long months of taking care of our first child-who was a preemie- and a great experience for Brooke who, besides the NICU, had little interaction with other kids. The Little Gym was one of the places that we liked and stuck with and Brooke still attends a fun gym class for kids her age close to our rental. Brooke is at an age where she can be dropped off for class although Bob usually sticks around outside her class while she has fun inside. She looks forward to her weekly class and she likes to show me her moves at home. I like when she explains things they do, ‘Mom, we had a bounce house today!’ to “Our teacher has us line up on the purple wall” but my favorite is when she teaches me a new song complete with moves! Brooke gets such a kick out of showing me her move-along songs and I like to learn. I honestly had no idea that The Little Gym had their own CDs for sale until recently. I asked Brooke if she wanted to be able to play her songs at home and I got a LOUD ‘Yes!’ So, here you go parents.

The Little Gym sells a 70-minute (yes, 70 minutes!) CD of 20 Move-Along Fun Songs that a child will recognize from their gymnastics class at The Little Gym. The songs are to help kids get moving and learning. The Gym uses a three-step approach to learning to build confidence in kids. The songs used in class incorporates their ideas of moving, learning and life-skill sharing that we enjoy. I love the idea that kids can take their gym experience home with them to share with their family. Let’s get moving and grooving with these great songs. Love it!
