We found that Little White Rabbit by Kevin Henkes (author of the Penny the mouse children’s books) is a perfect book for the spring/Easter season for us. It’s a fun and simple book that talks about a little white rabbit’s journey through nature and how he uses his imagination. What if rabbit could fly high in the sky? Little rabbit flaps his ears and finds himself zooming in the sky! What if rabbit could be taller than a fir tree? Little rabbit stretches as tall as the trees! Little rabbit wanders far away and gets lost in his thoughts, but at the end of the day he knows how to get home and that his family loves him very much. This is a sweet, short and gentle read for families with young children.
