Laurie Berkner Lullabies CD (All Ages)

We have been a fan of Laurie Berkner’s music since her Christmas album, A Laurie Berkner Christmas (see my past review here).  Brooke was all about her song ‘Candy Cane Jane’ and I think I heard it at least a hundred times over the last two years ago.  For those who don’t know Laurie, she is a former preschool music teacher who became an indie rocker extraordinaire at night.  She began selling her music over ten years ago on her own independent label, Two Tomatoes Records.  Interestingly, Laurie was the first artist to appear in music videos on Nick Jr. and is frequently featured in episodes of the channel’s Jack’s Big Music Show as well as having a new Sprout network feature called ‘Sing it Laurie’.  Very cool!

Of course wanted to check out Laurie’s new Lullaby album which is really fantastic.  As you may remember from  my past reviews, our bedtime rituals are very important, from bedtime books, bedtime bath and, of course, bedtime music.  This is an adorable and sweet album perfect to wind down your little one before bed.  Brooke loves it and is starting to learn all the words.  We love albums that help her drift off to sleep- especially since she now works her CD player all by herself in her room- and this is certainly one of them.  One of my favorite things to ask Brooke in the morning is, ‘Did you have any nice dreams?’  We have had many wonderful discussions that way and we love the song on this album, What Is The Color Of My Dreams?  Just beautiful!  We love you Laurie!
