The goal of BRUSHALOT is to turn the loss of a tooth into a great family tradition while at the same time including educational material about the importance of brushing your teeth in a way that children will understand. BRUSHALOT knows that oral health continues to be a major problem globally and is one of the top reasons for a child’s absence from school. Schools in Canada have taken notice and have started using the storybook in this kit to introduce children to the importance of brushing their teeth. The Kit came on my radar and I thought it sounded like a perfect way to talk to my oldest about losing teeth and oral health.

The Award winning “Tooth Fairy Kit” was one of the Top 10 Socially Responsible Toys in 2013-14 and a wonderful way to talk to kids about oral health. The kit includes a children’s book called The Tale of the Tooth Fairy and the adorable plush toys of the Tooth Fairy, Brushalot, a cool horse DEN-TIST and Prince plaque that makes the story interactive, fun and educational about oral care.

The Tooth Fairy Kit is really an overall system of oral care that can start well before your child loses their first tooth. The kit comes with tooth brushes, a nightly story about the importance of tooth care and a system for how the tooth fairy uses your child’s old teeth. Note: She HATES a tooth with decay in them and can’t use them to fashion new teeth- so you better keep them healthy! When your child loses their tooth, they can place the lost tooth in one of DEN-TIST’s saddle bags and the ‘tooth fairy’ can locate and put her coins in the bags. I was impressed by how interested Brooke became about the prospect of losing a tooth (she has yet to lose one yet, but has discussed it at length) and how excited she became at wanting to care for her teeth. This is something we try to drive home on a daily basis and the Tooth Fairy Kit helps reinforce it. The Kit is great for both boys and girls and it is a definite bonus that Brooke loves all things royal – and the horse plush is a nice touch!
