Yes!
The amount I pay on dental insurance and bills each year is quite large. Did you know most insurances put a time limit on how often you can have your crown replaced? I do! Ours is five years so I had to pay for a new crown out-of-pocket this year for Bob’s tooth. Ouch for Bob and our wallet. We realize that while we do pay for dental insurance on top of our family health insurance, our dental insurance is realistically more like a payment plan and sometimes it can pay to be a cash patient. Dental care is so extremely important to our health that Bob and I make it a priority but we could have saved ourselves a lot of headache-and money- if we had done more preventative care when we were younger. We certainly are paying the price now and we are taking all the steps we can to show Brooke and Brie that healthy oral care habits are a priority in our lives so they hopefully do not make that same mistake.
I have done several oral care product reviews over the years so you know I do keep up with new products on the market in this area. Philips Sonicare now has a new Sonicare for Kids toothbrush that combines a lot of great features that I love. My daughter loves to brush her own teeth (and rinse with ‘minty-fresh’) and the Sonicare for Kids toothbrush delivers 500 brush strokes per second so her mostly-independent brushing removes more plaque. We have used a two-minute toothbrush timer for some time, but Sonicare for Kids has the timer built into the toothbrush! This is a fantastic feature for my preschooler! The toothbrush not only has a two-minute timer, it also automatically makes a noise when your child needs to move to a different quadrant in their mouth for brushing. How effective. After explaining all of that for Brooke, she is fascinated and excited to follow the toothbrush’s instructions. We love that the toothbrush is rechargeable and the soft brush heads are replaceable. The brush comes with several sticker options that you can check out on the Philips website and my daughter likes the fairy sticker the best. I think this is the best toothbrush for kids on the market and I feel like Sonicare for Kids is a great investment in my child’s oral health.
Replacement Heads! Please note that the recommended time to replace the head of your child’s brush is every three months. The average price I have found is around eleven dollars per head. You can sometimes find deals through Drugstore or Amazon.com.
#PowerToKids campaign: Philips Sonicare is having a #PowerToKids campaign in honor of independent brushing with Philips Sonicare For Kids! Check out their contest on their Facebook where they are giving away two new Philips Sonicare For Kids’ each week. Good luck!
