We usually find out about things through books and we discovered Peppa Pig through our local Half Price Books a few years ago. Half Price Books get a lot of UK import books for a great price and pass on the savings to us. Peppa books were funny and sweet and immediately Brooke wanted more Peppa! We discovered Nick Jr. was carrying the series here in the United States and right away the adorable animated Peppa and her brother George were welcome into our household. In fact, Brooke said she wanted to BE Peppa Pig for Halloween last year. I could not find a Peppa costume, but she was the cutest piggy you could imagine (and since we do family costumes-while we can- I had to be creative).
Close enough to Peppa, right?
I am happy to see that Peppa Pig is doing well in the States and now a new DVD featuring lots of Peppa tales is available for purchase. Awesome! Peppa has lots of fun adventures with her brother, George, and her Mummy and Daddy Pig. She was a great resource to talk to Brooke about becoming a big sister and Daddy is such a wonderful, silly presence in his daughter’s life which we love. The DVD is full of family fun and geared toward the preschool crowd. There are even bonus educational clips that Brooke loved. I will be on the lookout for more Peppa videos in the future!
