I know what I am good at in life for the most part. I also know what I am not so great at doing. I have found that there are certain things that –even with practice- I don’t seem to get much better. One of those things is doing more intricate architectural design. Even looking at decorating and moving objects within a room gives me pause. Will that fit in that corner? Can we add another table? I think that is why I get such a kick out of watching Brooke build things. She is so good at stacking and fitting things together. I bet she would have been a master at Tetris back in the day! She really digs working with magnets, too. It really started with a magnet refrigerator set she couldn’t get enough of and then moved on to a magnetic building wall she was able to play with at our local children’s museum. I was excited to learn about the Magformers set with its 30 piece set of magnets to design objects and buildings that is awesome for preschoolers and older.
Magformers are magnetic design sets for children that help foster brain development. The Magformers Rainbow 30-piece set is the basic set that comes with different triangles and squares. Let your child use their imagination and creativity by coming up with their own designs or checking out Magformers ideas booklet for people (like me) who like to have designs laid out for them. What I love about this set is that their slogan ‘always connect, never reject’ is true. If your child has ever used magnet sets before that are not as high quality than you will know what I mean when I say that connecting the objects together in a fast and cohesive fashion is extremely important for kids. You can also add on to this set with their other products and get many years out of building fun.
Fun with Imagination!
Brooke makes all sorts of interesting objects with her set and even for role playing such as pies with the triangles and books with her squares. She likes to ‘read’ stories from her stacked Magformers, especially about our own backyard friend, Awesome Possum. It is so much fun to watch her use her imagination.
