SET Junior Board Game (Age 3+)
SET® JUNIOR won Four Best Game Awards in 2013!
Set: In mathematics, a set is a collection of distinct objects, considered as an object in its own right.
The game of SET has been around since 1974 and was created by mom, Marsha Falco, as a family game for older children. Marsha was a geneticist and created the game out of a coding system that she used on her job. Now there is a new version for younger children as little as three to learn the principles of basic concepts of objects in a collection. It’s a great game for kids to be introduced to items like colors, shapes and numbers and how we can match them in to ‘sets’. This game (which, by the way, is acclaimed in four different Best Game Award categories in 2013 alone) is wonderful to play with two or more players in two different ways.
One: Beginner. As a way to teach matching sets of colors, shapes and numbers. Ex: Items are all blue, items are all shaped like diamonds, etc…
Two: Challenge. Create competition. Flip the board and race to find as many SETs as possible!
This game allows preschoolers to understand why colors, shapes and numbers match as a set and then as a challenge the players start to find sets (whether all the same or different) as fast as possible. It is fun and a challenge for children and parents will love to try match sets as fast as their child. The person with the most points for their number of sets wins the game! Learning games are not always notorious for being fun, but SET Junior is definitely a blast as well as being educational all-in-one. Move to the regular SET Board Game after mastery to continue the fun!
