Natural.  Effective.  Cruelty-Free.

I grew up in what is arguably the most toxic area for pollution in the United States in SE Ohio (with the Ohio River having the most pollution discharge in the country) and I used to work for the EPA, so perhaps I would be a good resource for someone who wants to try and live more naturally.  ‘Naturally’ always seems to equate to ‘more money’ in terms of purchasing, but that does not have to be the case and it is a funny road to how I got there.  So much for any air of sophistication or trace of a silver spoon, I used to think that eating in any sort of restaurant was-to use my dad’s words- ‘high on the hog.’  My dad ran the local ‘welfare dept’ (Job and Family Services now) and considering the first half of my young life we qualified although we didn’t accept any assistance (wouldn’t that look weird for the person running the welfare to be on it himself?), we didn’t have money or places to spend in that area.  I don’t ever remember getting a Kid’s Meal – we had no fast food in the village where I grew up until age 9- until I was well past the age of being a kid.  So, dating my ex-Army medic husband-who grew up in the same area- was a huge change and a lesson in budget planning 101 (on his end).  He was used to (what we at that time thought was..) a decent pay right out of high school in the military (and working a ton of hours) to actually save lives and I was barely making minimum wage-those 5 cent raises, you know- busting my butt to get my undergraduate degree working three jobs where I was treated as a lowly worker slinging food and giving out parking tickets.  So, I definitely wasn’t saving lives, but I did work hard behind that deli counter and you could not get me to spend what little money I had left over after bills!  At any rate, he circulated his money (Smith and Keynes would be proud) quite well and his collection of styling products (do they call it that for dudes?) rivaled any Clinique counter at your local mall.  Growing up in one of the worst polluted areas in the United States (citing EPA’s Toxics Release Inventory), where studies show that most people who live in that area have trace amounts of mercury in their systems, the words ‘all-natural’ and ‘organic’ do not roll off your tongue easily and I was intrigued.  Yes, I wanted that!  Bob used Kiss My Face well over a decade ago.  I promptly ‘borrowed’ the product and I haven’t looked back.  It would have never occurred to me to pay more than a dollar for soap (isn’t that what generic dish liquid is for? *shudder*), but I’m spoiled now and darn it, it IS better.  I do not actually consider that spoiled, I consider using natural products as important.  We only get one body and I want to take care of it. Speaking of which, Kiss My Face now wants to take care of you during the germy cold-fighting months!

Say What?  Yes, Kiss My Face now wants to help you fight colds and the flu.  How?  By introducing germ fighting all natural remedies into their products specifically for flu season.

What does Kiss My Face Cold & Flu Shower Gel contain?

•         A soothing, cleansing and moisturizing formula with lather
•         Fennel (cleanses and soothes the skin) that enhances circulation
•         Eucalyptus (anti inflammatory) with cooling properties
•         Horehound with soothing and aromatic properties

Do we like it?  Oh yes!  Bob has introduced me to many great products and Kiss My Face is one of them.  It smells fantastic, it lathers well and I like having it around this winter season.  Our shower gel has lasted and it is something we can use on our oldest daughter.  Score.

Psst!  Want to try out another germ fighting product from Kiss My Face?  Check out the Kiss My Face Tea Tree germAside Moisturizing Hand Soap.  Yummy!  It is one of Brooke’s favorites now (we all love the smell of Tea Tree).
