I have a thing for ducks that some might call ‘unnatural’. It started when I got a promotion as a Financial Management Specialist and I nervously went to meet my new office lead and co-workers. My husband was traveling all the time for work then and we lived in a new place and I threw myself into work (and school – I was getting my Masters) and really wanted to make a good impression. I saw a lovely red mop of hair coming at me with a Christmas and New Year yellow duck for my cubicle and I immediately sighed with relief. My new boss was going to be cool and the ducks (‘ducks in a row’ – get it???) was our mascot! I did not realize the madness of ducks that would soon take over my life and my cube and how much the Finance Team became like my family and my most favorite place to work. While I have moved on from the job (for security and promotion – not because I didn’t love it), I will always look at all things duck with a happy smile and laugh.
The Piyo Piyo children’s product company has a sweet duck as their symbol and their name refers to the sound that ducklings make! PIYO! PIYO! You may recognize this company since they have actually been around since 1988, which is –scarily- just over twenty five years old. I love their cute products and had to mention their spoon and chopsticks set for two reasons. One, these are real chopsticks and not training chopsticks for kids, so it was time for an upgrade for Brooke. Two, the carrying case for the utensils is so convenient for on-the-go. Plus it has DUCKS on it! Awww! We love it!
