After giving birth to Brooke she was whisked away to the NICU and I distinctly remember the nurses saying they could wheel me down to see her. ‘That’s crazy’, I said. I could walk myself down! It wasn’t until I got there I realized my feet were the size of watermelons. For someone who had no swelling during pregnancy, it was quite a shock! I knew of compression belts, stockings and clothing during pregnancy, but did you know they are just as important post-partum when your body is in recovery? This time I came prepared with light gradient compression stockings that support and prevent swelling in both pre and post-partum moms. I went for the natural nude color but there is a lot to choose from in the RuPreggers line. The stocking are completely sheer with a reinforced toe and NO drooping due to the nylon spandex blend. The stockings are made entirely in the USA and have a moisture wicking design to keep cool (oh, thank goodness). They do need to be hand washed in lukewarm to cold water and lay flat to dry, but other than that it is an easy fix to that awful leg swelling after birth (for those of us who can’t stay off their feet)!
