As of late, a house that smells good makes me think it is a clean house! We are not slobs, but with two kids (especially a preschooler), a day of housecleaning leads to a night of a children dump site. We just can’t keep their things organized and my older daughter’s cleaning skills as a preschooler are quite sub-par. She certainly tries, which we appreciate, but apparently I have a higher standard than throwing all loose item in a box (who knew)? But, at least our clothes smells good. Sachets are also awesome for all drawers and closets thanks to those magical inventions. Sachets aren’t the hardest things to make as a non-crafter, but those who knows scents, aromatherapy and can make their own adorable sachets that actually seal in scents are even better! Thankfully an awesome Etsy store called Winter Solstice has become a family favorite and every time I open my daughter’s drawers it is like a breath of fresh air. No kidding!
Winter Solstice is owned by Farmer’s Market, Kim, who has been selling her products for years. Kim’s dryer sachets are great to 15-20 loads of laundry, so they last a long time. She also recommends using the ‘used up’ contents on a carpet or run to vacuum up after 15 minutes to prolong the product. Yum! For those crafty types, you can even re-open the sachet, fill with organic lavender and re-sew! Cool! Besides between awesome dryer sheets you can also under in draws and storage bins to keep away the months. This is an awesome homemade product that really does the trick. Plus, who doesn’t like smelling lavender in the middle of winter. Ahhh! Perfect stocking stuffer!
