I will start off by saying we are all big storytellers in our family.  My husband and I like to talk and now our older daughter has been encouraged by us to talk and tell stories.  Her imagination is so fun to watch and because she is at an age where she picks up pretty much everything, her stories sometimes surprise us.  We have a nighttime reading ritual where first both mommy or daddy reads a book and then Brooke gets her turn to ‘read’.  Sometimes her stories will fit the plot from memory but mostly she goes off on these funny and crazy adventures that have Bob and me in stitches.  Being the constant ham (I still haven’t decided who she got that from…) she soaks it all up and lets it all come back out in constant stand up comedic timing.  When I read about the Gryphon Design Collective Wordless Story Game I knew that would be a big hit with our family and I was not wrong.  In fact, we liked it so much we plan to get others!

Wordless Story Game – Underwater Adventure‏ is a card game story without words.  A story without words, you ask?  What?  Yes!  That’s where you and your child’s imagination comes in to tell your own tale.  While these are incredibly useful for pre-readers like my daughter, this is great for any child who loves to tell stories and go on their own imaginative adventures.  Designed by American artist, Cat Addams, the cards are double laminated (5”x7”) and come in a durable tin.  Highly recommended.
