Most of our favorite (and affordable) Montessori activities come from Etsy shops.  Free Spirit Kids is from mom and teacher, Allyson, who lives the Montessori life with her family and daughter in Woodstock, VA.  We have used different methods of toddler cards (we have a really cute ‘foods of the world set’) and was excited to see these fun fruit and vegetable sets from Allyson.  Basically, they are 3.5″ x 5″ laminated cards with pictures of different fruits and veggies with each word spelled out in large font for your child to absorb.  These cards work best while cooking or using play-food for learning retention.  Believe me, it works, and my daughter was saying dishes like egg drop soup from an early age from cards like this.  The cards are stored in a muslin bag and have rounded corners for safe use for younger children.  Don’t forget to check out the rest of Allyson’s Montessori materials shop on Etsy.  You won’t be disappointed!
