For someone who spent most of their childhood confined to the state of Ohio and West Virginia, I have come a long way. If I am counting correctly, and I think I am, I have been to every state in the Continental United States besides North Dakota and Maine. While both of these states are on our to-do list (also including Alaska and Hawaii), we are also starting over as a family. We hope they our kids get out as much of it as much as we have. I have been to most of our 50 states but I still have a lot of sightseeing and fun things to do, so in many ways we would get to explore together. I was really excited when I heard Little Passports, a monthly subscription for kids that explores countries, started a new U.S.A. Explorer subscription last November. How fun!
Join characters Sam and Sofia as they travel to two states each month and share their adventures through the mail with your child. I found the Explorer Kit to be of excellent quality and I find the monthly pen pal letters with goodies a very inspiring way for our young ones to learn about each US state. The travel journals are so much fun and are activity-packed with stories and stickers, postcards, pop-out models and access to online activities. Currently, subscriptions to Little Passport are only available to children within the United States and Canada although the company would like to expand in the future.
